This is your tax dollars at work. Every time you buy fishing tackle a small portion (10%) of the purchase price goes into the Federal Sport Fish Restoration Fund (Dingle-Johnson). The money, over $400 million in 2004, is administered by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and is distributed to all states for sport fish restoration projects. You can go to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service web site and check on the money that your state receives.
